Photo Journalism and Assignment Photography                                  All News and Magazine Photography and all other PhotoJournalism and Assignment Photography is on a bid or offer by speculation and contract basis.  Pricing on an offer and acceptance basis is ordinarily based on the client's standard freelance terms rather than on a fixed per image rate.  Most of our photojournalism is on an offer and acceptance basis because this allows us to produce our own documentary stories.  Street photography is a form of photojournalism that many people including photographers are unfamiliar with.  Street photography entails telling a story through photographs and text; photographing people in their natural settings and surroundings doing things they ordinarily do. 

Wedding Photography.  Your wedding is much too important to trust to a wannabe who has purchased a digital camera.  Your fist clue, even without seeing a sample, is the level of equipment they use (do they use professional cameras or consumer cameras-ask to see the models and check them online) and find out whether they have backup equipment of the same type and quality.  We never approach a wedding with fewer than three (3) professional quality cameras and quality lighting and professional battery packs.  Weddings are very fast moving events, and exercises in family dynamics, demanding a combination of quality classic portraiture and very rapid documentary photography.  We are very, very fast, and extremely unobtrusive.  When your wedding is over, your guests should say we hardly knew the photographer was even there, and you should still receive between 500 and 1,000 images.   We provide two complete sets of CDs containing all images and we provide an online print ordering service directly from us with all of your images online for you, your families, and your guests to see.  The images are password specific to your wedding for you to give to whomever you wish.  We charge $1,000.00 for Pre Ceremony, Ceremony, and Altar Returns or Wedding Formal Portraits-always completed within 30 minutes.  We provide you with unedited digital dvds of our coverage and we provide instructions on how your friends can shoot your reception where an experienced photographer is seldom necessary.

It is your wedding and needs to be Photographed professionally.

Almost all product photography today is done digitally.  We will shoot digital, film or transparencies.  The choice is yours.  You will receive 2 CDs containing high resolution images, and you will own the copyright except that, unless otherwise stated in writing, I may use photographs I take of your products for my own display advertising and at my expense.

We excel in extreme close-up or macro photography of rare coins, stamps, other products and collectibles, including the inner workings of many small objects as you can see from our main page images on this site.

A WORD OF CAUTION:  Many people will shoot your products against a stark white background and add background or other color to your images later, in the computer.  While computer enhancing is a wonderful tool, the more that is done in camera when the image is made, the more profound computer enhancement can be and the less quality degradation there will be because there will be fewer generations of each print. Generational degradation may significantly reduce the impact of your images.  Additionally, the more your products are enhanced in-camera, rather than later by computer, the greater the benefit additional computer enhancing will be whether you do it or I do it. Every image on these sample pages, including the Mug Shots, was completed entirely in-camera.  The hand-painted earth tone and Super-Brite backgrounds found on the mug shots page and other sample pages, are actual painted backgrounds and are not computer added.  No sample image on these pages is computer enhanced in any manner, except where text is added over an image.  All photography pricing is factored on our basic commercial day rate which is $725.00 for 6 consecutive hours of work.  Our rate beyond 6 hours is $125.00 per additional hour.

Images on sent to you on CDs or via electronic format and are ordinarily  RAW but at your request can be in JPEG format, or in another format for your convenience.
